Emory to Host Second Virtual Juliet E. Shield Symposium on Compassion

The Juliet E. Shield Symposium on Compassion, supported by a gift from Juliet E. Shield and the Robins Foundation, will take place virtually October 28-29, 2021. Hosted by the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University, the invitation-only event will feature Rhonda V. Magee as the keynote speaker in a live webcast open to the public on October 28 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm EDT.

Rhonda V. Magee is a tenured professor of law at the University of San Francisco and an internationally recognized thought leader focused on integrating mindfulness into higher education, law, and social change work. Author of The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness, she draws from her expertise in law and legal history to inspire change in how we think, act, and live better together in a rapidly changing world.
