The NAACP of Transylvania County is proud to announce that it will grant the first annual scholarship from the Carle Wilson Fund for Education and the Arts. While the Fund will give precedence to applications for study in music or other artistic fields, such as drama, the Fund will consider all applications from young African Americans (ages 15-35) living in Transylvania County who are seeking to further their education.
This Scholarship Fund has been established in memory of Carle Wilson, Jr., a distinguished and beloved member of the Brevard community. Carle was a scholar, an actor, and an accomplished musician who valued quality education and cherished the place of music and the arts in the life of the people.

Completed applications must be received by June 1. The winner of the $1000 grant will be announced at a celebration in July.
